Woops!

So I guess you might have noticed that I haven't been updating this blog. It's really because I have nothing interesting to say and this is a pain but I have started a new blog for you over at Wordpress because it's easier to use, doesn't have as much downtime and it has prettier templates :)

So change your bookmark and go to www.kimberleyanne.wordpress.com

One Wild Night

So we got away from Manchester this past weekend and had a TON of fun!! It was my friend Jon's 21st birthday so he decided we should all go to Blackpool for a night to do something different. I was a little hesitant at first seeing as it was me and 7 guys but they're all awesome and I had an AMAZING time!! We stayed at the cutest little B&B which only cost us 25 pounds for the night including breakfast in the morning (big breakfast too!!) and passes for free drinks and admission into a few different clubs in Blackpool.

We left Manc at supper time on Friday night and got there about 6ish which gave us time for some champagne in the boys' room and then to go downstairs for a free beer in the bar. And then it began! We started out at an Australian bar called Walkabout which had some really good girly drinks that even the boys enjoyed :D ... Next we went to a place called Flares which was a 70's themed club which was decorated in everything 70's including some fake mustaches on the bartenders LOL!!! They played all 70's music and had TV screens all around with the music videos playing. After Flares we went to the club where we stayed for the rest of the night ... too bad I can't remember the same (I'll try to find it)!!

Lot's of drinking insued and as you can imagine there was a little craziness too. A few highlights - even old people go out to clubs in Blackpool apparently, the ladies washroom as a hair straightener and curling iron in it, more champagne, and I punched some guy ... so as you might imagine it was alot of fun!! Here are some pics :D

The boys before going to the clubs ... Pete, Tommy, Hugh, Rich, Dave, Sam and b-day boy Jon (left-right)

Manc in a nutshell :D

I got an email today from my friend Angela who has been graciously keeping me up to date on all of the juicy gossip at home and she said that not very many people knew that I was gone at all haha!! Nice to know people have noticed o.O Well that's not entirely true ... some people didn't know I was gone and some people thought I was still in Denmark. Surprise!! Haha!!

I haven't really told people alot about Manchester and what it's like to live here. Technically I don't live right in Manc, I live on the outskirts of Greater Manchester in a place called Salford. I'm not far away from the city center at all though ... it takes Rich and I about 15 min to walk into town which we tend to do almost every night just for something to do and to get some air. Taking the train is also an easy way to get around because there's a station a 2 min walk from where we live and it doesn't cost very much at all. I like the train because it's kind of a novelty for me still haha!!

I keep meaning to take pictures of the city but I always forget my camera so tonight I have put it on it's charger and I'll put it in my purse and take it shopping with me tomorrow :) For now I'll leave you with a few pics I had from the first time I came to Manchester. I promise I'll get the new ones posted for you soon and I'll explain what's in them!!

The Printworks ... there are a bunch of cool bars and restaurants in there.
The Manchester Eye ... was supposed to be up for a limited time but the people wanted it to stay so it did.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year :D

I hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas and you are all in the process of having a Happy New Year :)

I spent Christmas this year in the Crisp family household and it was a ... loud one haha!! I had a great time with Rich's family and I got lots of nice gifts ... all of which I was very surprised about recieving!! I got 2 hoodies, Burberry perfume, makeup, a Scooby dvd and a t-shirt that says "What would Scooby Doo?". Oh yes ... and LOTS of chocolate!! I was very sad about not being able to be with my family for the holidays but Rich kept me occupied and made sure that I didn't get too homesick.

Today, Rich and I travelled from his family's house in Swanage (on the southern coast of England) back to Manchester and it's very nice to be back. I look forward to not being woken up but an 8 year old yelling and running around haha!! But I think that I will miss playing board games and having fun with Rachael, Rich's little sister. Our train arrived back in Manchester at almost 11:30 so we decided to sit this New Year's Eve out and have a quiet night in. It was a very nice sursprise to see the fireworks right from our window so we didn't miss out on too much :)

An update on the job situation ... I have been offered a job at a retail store called West One in the big shopping center here (The Arndale). Here's the problem. I need a National Insurance Number (same as our SIN) in order to work here ... to get the NIN I have to have been offered a job (and I have) ... BUT I had to make an appointment for an interview (which I also did) but the interview isn't until Jan. 29 because that was the soonest they could get me in. Boo!!!! I think I may try to get a waitressing job and see if I can work under the table until I get my NIN. I'll probably make more money in tips than I would working retail anyway!!

Anyway, it's 3am here and I'm off to bed :) Happy New Year all!!

Guess who's back :D

Thought you'd never hear from me again?? Wrong :D Anyone crazy enough to read this will once again be subjected to my thoughts and rants. Muahahahahaha!! I really missed writing Adventures of a Canuck (which has now been retired) so I thought I might revive this one. Not actually expecting anyone to read ... just my vent I guess. I don't really have many people to talk to so cyber space is good enough for me.

Little update on my life. Currently living in Manchester, England with my boyfriend Rich ... trying to find work but it's not really working out like I planned. Not very many things in my life are working out like I planned haha! I'm trying to keep my head up and roll with it as much as I can for the time being. We'll see where things take me. I don't think I've had it all that bad in my life as of yet so I really shouldn't complain. Guess it's just my turn for a little bad luck. Hopefully things will start looking up soon :D I'll be looking forward to it!!

In Denmark!

Well I'm finally here and I can't believe it! Everything here is so cool and different. I had a few issues when I first got here about my living arrangements but they are all worked out now and I have a room with a private bathroom. Yay!

I probably won't be updating this blog as much as I normally do. This is because I have another blog specificly about my trip here. Please visit
Adventures of a Canuck to find out all the stuff that's going on with me. And feel free to leave me comments. I love to hear from people!

Feeling Better :)

I was really mad the other night when I wrote that last post. Did you notice? LOL I had a bunch or girls over last night and it solidified my feelings for my wonderful friends and it made me ok with the others, who may not be as close to me as they once were. Even if we're never as close as we were, and even if we aren't friends anymore, we still had fun together at one point in our lives and that'll always stay the same.

Only 10 more days until I leave. My nerves are getting the best of me. I'm terrified!! I've gotten a few pointers from other people who are away from home and that helps. Shaun told me to listen to "Can't touch this" by MC Hammer ... I think that will work wonders to cure my homesickness!

Anyway, I think I'll go watch a Christmas movie with Joshua while I still am able to cuddle with him!

PS - Thanks Abby and Paula for reading!
